1st day
Departure from Ouarzazate in 4×4 to Zagora along the Draa Valley for lunch at one of the oldest kasbah in the Valley. In the afternoon, departure in 4×4 for 1 hour drive. Arrival in M’hamid (Desert Gate). Departure by caravan on dromadaire (2 h) to join our bivouac in the desert . Sublime opportunity to admire a magnificent sunset.
Dinner and overnight at the foot of the dunes.
2nd day
Return to M’hamid for lunch. In the afternoon, departure in 4×4 for the ERG and the dunes of Chegaga (60 km of track).
Dinner and overnight in tents.
3rd day
After the breakfast, departure in 4×4 to cross 80 km more in the desert enjoying different landscapes (Iriqui lake, mountains, fossils).
Lunch near FoumZgid, last Palm Grove before the sand desert.
Resumption of the paved road to Taznakht, the ancient carpet country that today houses the cooperative of Ouzguida carpets made in the region, to arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon.
The erg and the chegaga dunes
< a href = "https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erg_ (dune)" >the erg < / a > Chegaga is one of the two major ergs of the Sahara au Morocco, the other being Erg Chebbi< / a>.
This dune massif is located about 50 km west of the commune of m’hamid El Ghizlane
With a surface area of about 40 km long and 15 km wide, with dunes that reach almost 60 m high, this erg is the largest and wildest of Morocco.
