After your breakfast departure to visit the oasis of Fint
Just 10 km from Ouarzazate, the Oasis of Fint is a green oasis out of nowhere and nestled at the foot of a rocky hill. There time seems to have stopped and you will enjoy discovering this space out of time along its river, and its gardens.
It is also the other emblematic place with the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou of filming Famous Movies Game Of thrones, Prince of persia, natives, Babel and many others.
Just a few kilometers away our visit continues with the visit of the kasbah of Tifoultoute : this ancient property of the Pasha family of Marrakech Si Thami el Glaoui, stands on a rocky outcrop and dominates the Wadi Zat.
We will head a little further north towards Marrakech to turn towards the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a fortified village situated on the side of a rocky piton on the banks of the oued River which is a striking example of land architecture and the traditional pre-Saharan habitat.
All around a group of villages gathers. At the foot of the hill flows the Wadi Maleh, whose name means “salty river”.
The Ksar is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and is an emblematic location for film-making in the region : Game Of Thrones, Babel, Gladiator, and many others.
Due to the need for cinema, we will then head to visit one of the film studios in the city.
Located 3 km west of Ouarzazate, Atlas Corporation studios founded in 1983 are recognizable by the huge Pharaohs posted in front of the entrance. These are the first cinema studios in Morocco, covering an area of 30 ha. Many films have been shot there, such as Kundun Mr. Scorses, The Jewels of the Nile, with Michael Douglas, and Gladiator, Ridley Scott, or Babel, with Brad Pitt. Part of the shooting of Game Of Thrones took place here.
Return to the city center and its nerve center : the kasbah of Taourirte is a national heritage and is represented on the tickets of 50 dirhams.
Next to the medina, it impresses with its dimensions and its incredible earthen Arch in the heart of the city.
It is said to have been built around the middle of the 18th century and belonged to the Glaoui.
